Comments: : Moore College was established by the will of the first master shipbuilder of the colony of New South Wales, Thomas Moore Esq, which came into effect with his death in 1840. Its first students were enrolled in 1856. We are an evangelical Anglican College open to men and women of all denominations who wish to take the biblical gospel of the crucified and risen Lord Jesus to a lost and needy world. In particular, we are the theological education centre for the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. Our full-time undergraduate student body usually numbers around 300 men and women with part-time and postgraduate students on top of that. Our distance education courses are used all over the world. The College has 19 full-time faculty and operates three centres for the support of Christian ministry more widely: the Priscilla and Aquila Centre, a centre promoting men and women in partnership in ministry; the Centre for Christian living, a centre resourcing Christian men and women to live and witness effectively in today’s world; and the Centre for Ministry Development, which provides specialist resourcing and mentoring for graduates in full-time ministry. The Archbishop of Sydney is the President of the College’s Governing Board.
