Brief history of Diocese:

The Diocese of Kumi was once part of the Diocese of Soroti but it divided and was created a diocese 22 July 2001. I am the first bishop os this new diocese. The Dioceses has 3 Archdeaconries, 28 parishes and 119 daughter churches. We have 28 parishes priests and 7 priests in training. Being a new diocese there are many requirements and demands that need to be put in place.

Any previous or existing Links:

We are not linked to any other diocese.

Reason for wanting a Link:

To enhance a working relationship that will benefit the two diocese in both physical and spiritual development. This will encourage exchange visits between the two dioceses.

What expectations you have of the Link?

To promote evangelism in both dioceses
To support the vulnerable classes of people for example the HIV/AIDS victims, the orphans, the widows and to improve the standard of living among the poor.

What part of the world you would like your Link to be?

The United Kingdom or the United States of America

Describe the style and patterns of church life and ministry in your diocese.

The Christians in my diocese are quite devoted to Christian virtues and their life style is dependant on the Holy Spirit and they are strengthened by the Scriptures. The following are characteristics of our life style: Evangelism, Pastoral visitation, Counselling, tithing, Christian development of new believers and continuos nurturing of all the believers in their faith.

Would you like your Link diocese to reflect or contrast with the pattern described above?

It may not be possible to be linked with a diocese of the same characteristics but there can be other rich values in the link-diocese which can be share with us and vise-versa.
