Brief history of Diocese:

The Diocese of Bor was created in 1984, just a year after the current civil war had started inside Bor town. Both the Diocesan Bishop and his congregations had been strictly confined by the war to the SPLMIA controlled areas. The Diocese was badly uprooted due to a bad attack by armed groups in 1991and thus some members of the Diocese are now living in displaced & refugee camps outside Bor. The Diocese has a Congregation of 25.000 Christians & over 500 priests.

The Diocese of Bor has some numerous problems because of the war in Sudan.

Any previous or existing Links:

The ECS Diocese of Bor has a link now with the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis, Indiana State, USA.

Reason for wanting a Link:

  1. To jointly carry out the Great Commission in the World.
  2. To learn from each others experiences for the common good of the Church of God.
  3. To know and understand each other as branches of the same vine.
  4. To help one another if possible.

What expectations you have of the Link?

  1. The scope of the gospel outreach will expand greatly.
  2. There will be an increase in knowledge & skills among partners because of learning opportunity through pandering & partnership.
  3. Some relevant issues will be easy to address.
  4. Being linked in partnership will help strengthen the Anglican Communion World-wide.

What part of the world you would like your Link to be?

Wherever almighty God leads US to because we are the branches of the same vine respective of geographic and racial backgrounds.

Describe the style and patterns of church life and ministry in your diocese.

So far so good, our partnership or link has been very cordial with the Diocese of Indianapolis.

Would you like your Link diocese to reflect or contrast with the pattern described above?
