The Anglican Consultative Council (ACC), on the last day of its meeting in Nottingham, has called on the Government of Zimbabwe to reverse its policies of destruction and begin to engage in development that eradicates poverty.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Rowan Williams spoke today the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) meeting of his hopes for the forthcoming conference. He said that he was concerned that the gathering will help bishops be "better equipped for mission" and to focus on "training and devleopment" for the participants. Archbishop Williams also said he would like to see the bishops and the bishops' spouses meet together and that the regional meetings should "identify actuals areas of need".

Resolutions were passed on International Anglican Family Network, Inter-Anglican Finance and Administration Committee, The Appointment of the Archbishop of York, two constitutional changes were also made, ACC to be a charitable company and changes made to the schedule of membership.
The following resolutions were presented to an extended business section at the ACC meeting today in Nottingham. The resolution dealing with the 'listening process' from Lambeth 1998 passed unanimously, while the resolution dealing with the Anglican Consultative Council - North America itself passed with a vote of 30 in favour, 28 against, and 4 abstentions.

Who are we talking to in this meeting? To be a Christian is to believe we are commanded and authorised to say certain things to the world; to say things that will make disciples of all nations. Our words matter. We have to think with care about them and to try and know something of how they will be heard.
