[AllAfrica] His Lordship The Reverend Bishop Jacob Kofi Ayeebo, Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Tamale on Wednesday received the nod as the Upper East Region's representative on the Council of State.
Bishop Ayeebo emerged winner with 20 votes whilst his contestants, Mr Clement Gwalinia Abavana ,64-year-old Electrical Engineer got five votes, and Naba Bewong Gelbire , 67-year-old Mines Engineer obtained only one vote, as confirmed by Mr Azu Bosco Anyigire, Deputy Upper East Regional Director of the Electoral Commission.
In his victory message, the Bishop said the victory was for all and gave the assurance that he would contribute his quota to the Better Ghana Agenda and the development of the region and the country as a whole.
The 52-year-old Bishop holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) in Missiology, Masters in Development and Mission Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Ministry.
